Story

The third Big Bike Ride will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May 2019. Leaving from Haw Wood Farm Caravans and camping on Saturday morning the route will take you on a 60 mile ride through the beautiful Suffolk Countryside. With rest stops every 20 miles you will then head north of Ipswich before dropping down to stay over night in Harwich. On Sunday the 40 mile route takes you back across the 3 main rivers in the area, beginning with the ferry from Harwich to Felixtowe across the River Stour. Continuing along this lovely stretch of coast you will then take a second ferry across the River Deben to Bawdsey. When you reach the River Alde at Snape there is the opportunity for family and friends to meet up and join the final 12 miles back to Haw Wood Farm. The Big Bike Ride is once again raising money for St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich and Bramfield Primary School near Halesworth. Our much loved Kate Woodruff, who inspited this event, was the Head of School and worked at Bramfield Primary School for 10 years. In 2016 she spent the last few weeks of her life being cared for at St Elizabeth Hospice .
